Fall 2009

Dear Friends,
We are back in California with many exciting things on the horizon for GNM. We will be in the Klamath River RV Park for about 7 weeks. I will be teaching the book of John at a newly established Bible college in Crescent City. Then we plan to move to the Woodson Bridge RV Park in Corning, CA where we will be part of a Campers for Christ rally. So California here we are!

judy-child.jpgPraising at House of Prayer
What a wonderful past three months we had in the Lord. Over two months we were in Wheatland, WY where I taught 9 Sunday mornings at GNM House of Prayer on Hearing the Voice of God. The congregation certainly knows better now how to recognize God’s voice from that of satan or the flesh!

During one of those services a young boy walked to the front all by himself wanting to make Jesus Lord of His life. I told him all of heaven was rejoicing at that moment!  Each service the Holy Spirit brought the power of God for salvation, healing, and breaking the enemy’s strongholds.

Drinking Buddies to Praying Buddies!
While in that area I went to see my long-time friend who lives in a rest home in Wheatland. You may remember from a previous newsletter that Millie and I were drinking buddies many years ago and that during my visit last year, she gave her life to the Lord. It was good to see the Bible I’d given her sitting on her nightstand. As we were visiting, Millie said to me, “Judy, it is because I have Jesus in my heart that I can have peace in this place. What would I have done if I had not known you?” I spent many days with Millie praying and talking with her about heaven being her home and how the rest home and wheel chair are just temporary. We went from drinking buddies so long ago to praying buddies now!

esterbrook.jpgScenic Church Reaches Community
Just before leaving Wyoming, we were invited to speak at the historical Esterbrook Community Church. We drove an hour or more over dirt roads, passing a huge herd of buffalo and other breathtaking scenery. A large bell was rung to summon people to the Sunday morning service. Usually some people arrive on horseback.

A huge window behind the pulpit frames the mountains and the occasional herd of elk passing by. God is so wonderful. How could anyone not believe in a God with all the beautiful creation surrounding us!

Vic and I want to thank you for your faithful support, both prayerfully and financially. The struggles of life are increasing for all of us, and we pray daily for you. We pray that God will bless your health and finances, and also that He will give you wisdom and guidance! God SENDS us, we GO, but it is YOU who keeps us on the road. Together we are advancing the Kingdom of God!

Good News Loves Inmates!

My books are in many prison libraries around the country. An inmate from Susanville Prison in California wrote: “I am writing on behalf of myself and my cellmate. For the second time I am reading your book, banner_small.gifFaith, Does it Really Move Mountains? Ever since Gary came into my cell I have been reading it out loud because he does not read very good. . . . Reading your book even for the second time still brings tears to my eyes, and I know the Holy Spirit is moving on my life.”

The other day, I received a phone call from a former prison inmate. While in jail he had read Faith, Does it Really Move Mountains? He wanted me to know how much the book had impacted his life. He said, “Your book brought practical truths concerning faith that are helping me in my life.” Then he asked me to uphold him in prayer. We prayed over the phone. With your financial giving and prayers, you have helped place my books in the jails and prison libraries all over the USA. On behalf of the inmates and GNM—Thank you!

“Food for Thought” Touches Readers

I write a Food for Thought column each month for the Platte County Record-Times. One day I was shopping in Cheyenne 80 miles from Wheatland when a woman came up to me and asked, “Aren’t you the lady that writes the columns in the newspaper?”  I told her I was. The woman said, “I love those columns and look forward to reading them each month.” The articles are an encouragement to believers and a witness to those who are not yet believers.

One of the columns is a “Dear Judy” where I give a biblical response to people’s questions. Got a question for this column? Send it to me by mail or email. You can read my thought-provoking articles on the GN website.

Fire on the Water by Vic Baus

vic-fish.jpgMost of you know we spend 2 months in the Wheatland, WY area where we have a boat called FIRE ON THE WATER. The name of the boat draws people’s curiosity, giving me an opportunity to explain that I have the Lord’s presence with me when I fish because the Lord Jesus Christ is in my life.

Those who knew me in Wheatland many years ago thought I would wind up in prison or be dead by now. I’m so grateful that the Lord God changed my life!

While in a RV park in Montana I helped several people fish for trout. Have you ever seen trout swimming upstream? They're known to rest from the beating effects of the current by hiding behind a rock. As the water surges around the stone, the fish stay in the calm spot created by the bulk of the rock. Once refreshed, they move back into the flow, revived for the next challenge -- whether prey, fisherman or something else.

When I feel like I am swimming upstream with the current beating on me, I remember: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer: my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge” (Psalm 18:2).

If you have never made Jesus Christ your Savior and Lord, you have no rock to stand on in times of trouble, no fortress to protect you, and no deliverer to save you. Choose Jesus today. He beckons you to “Come unto Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30).
