Newsletter - Winter 2011

Christmas is about giving. God gave us the best gift — His Son, the Lord Jesus.

Good News Ministries is also about giving, whether it be the Gospel from the pulpit or food and clothing to the poor.

And your giving to Good News Ministries enables us to go out year after year into the highways and byways of our great land, ministering Christ to a needy world.

Dear Friends,
Christmas is about giving.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a special time to be alive and living in a nation where we can freely celebrate our Savior’s birth! Christians in many countries do not enjoy such freedom. During this busy season, take time to consider the meaning of Christmas and the announcement to the shepherds so long ago:

Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. . . .(Luke 2:10)

As we say goodbye to another year, I urge you to take time to thank the Lord for His blessings in 2011. Whatever your circumstances, remember that the Lord works all things together for good to those who love Him.

2012 marks the start of our 19th year in ministry! Wow. We look forward to the exciting things the Lord has in store for us and for those He places on our path in the year to come. I hope you too are eager to walk into the opportunities He places before you to share Christ in 2012.

Thank you for your prayers and support to reach America for Christ. We pronounce a blessing over you for health and provision. Remember, if you need prayer at any time, we are just a phone call or an email away.

On behalf of all of us at Good News Ministries, may you and your loved ones have a Merry Christmas and a very blessed New Year!

Keep Joseph and his family in your prayers, and all our troops and their families. Being separated during Christmastime can bring added stress and loneliness. Ask the Lord to comfort them all, and protect them as well.

God Heals People . . .

Vic and I spent this fall ministering in Klamath, CA, where we ministered from the pulpit and one- on-one. Here are a few highlights from the fishing ministry.

Vic met John who was staying in the same RV park and took him fishing one day. I took a picture of John’s nice catch (above) which I printed out and later took to him. John and his wife were just returning from the emergency room. She was in great pain from a badly infected tooth and her face and neck were swollen. I asked if I could pray for her. The next day, she was out of pain and the swelling was gone that evening. This opened many conversations about the Lord!

. . . and Dogs Too!

pic5.pngOne day Vic was fishing with several men when Kelly, Mike’s dog, got hold of the fishing line and swallowed the fish hook. We prayed over Kelly before Mike took his “best friend” to the vet. X-rays showed the hook inside her stomach, big as life. The vet gave Kelly special food hoping it would help her pass the hook. We kept praying and behold, no hook showed up on the next set of X- rays! Kelly is doing fine today! Thank you Jesus.
