Spring 2009

Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope this letter finds you well. These three months since we last wrote have sped past! We arrived in San Jose in January, later than usual because the Good News Bus was in the shop undergoing major repairs. The week it was to be in the shop turned out to be three. When we got the bill, we said Thank You to the Lord because nothing catches Him by surprise and He always provides. When the bus was in the shop, that meant our HOUSE was in the shop! Thank you Mom for allowing us to move in with you!

In the meantime, Vic built sides for his trailer and we packed it and our truck with quality clothes and shoes from the GN storehouse for an outreach in Gustine, California. The pastor holding the outreach added rice, beans, and Bibles so it was a practical outreach for this small Hispanic community. Many times we have to meet people’s physical needs before their spiritual needs can be reached.spring2009-2.jpg

Fourteen volunteers from the pastor’s other church in South San Jose helped with the outreach. More than 100 people came to receive that day, and six people received the best gift of all—Salvation in Jesus Christ!  They are now attending church. Thank you Jesus! And thank all who helped make this outreach possible.

We have been busy about the Fathers’ business preaching, teaching, and setting people free from the bondage of sin and its affects.

You are a blessing to Vic and me and Good News Ministries. Because of your faithful prayers and support, we can continue to go and reach out to hurting people in the highways and byways of America. We are praying for each of you and know that God will be with you every step of the way in 2009 and throughout life.

Some of you may have recently learned that you or a loved one has cancer, or you may live in fear of getting this dreaded disease. I want to tell you about Michele who learned she had terminal cancer just over a year ago, and what happened to her. I think it will encourage you and help you make it through your ordeal. Michele sent me a synopsis of her story.

Here’s what she wrote:

After being told I had terminal stage-4 lung cancer with six months to live, I called Good News Ministries for prayer. Judy was a true blessing as she directed me in the Scriptures. Her guidance and faith was a light in a time of darkness.

I searched the Scriptures for God’s will. I began to realize that it was not God’s desire for me to be sick or to die prematurely. I claimed John 10:10 where Jesus says that the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy . . . but Jesus came to give me life and that life more abundantly. I got that deep down in my spirit where it started to activate my faith.

Proverbs 4:20-23 tells us that God’s word is health to all our flesh. I told the mountain of CANCER to move and it did. I am now in remission to the amazement of my doctors. I have had a second-line treatment drug and no chemotherapy. Thank you Good News Ministries for standing with me in faith and prayer through this season of God’s continued miracles. - Michele

Secular Paper Powerful Tool

Judy writes two columns each month for this Wheatland, Wyoming, newspaper that reaches into about 3,000 homes. When Judy was preaching in Wheatland recently, a woman in the congregation told her, I look forward to your articles. They are always so uplifting!

Letter from Yamhill County Jail

McMinnville, Oregon
“I am currently incarcerated and was fortunate enough to get my hands on your book From Rags to Riches. It is truly a faith builder! I am a 45-year-old mother of 5 and have been making bad choices for 20 years. I now have a personal relationship with the Lord and my life is not the same. Your book was so inspiring and so much I could relate to. I would love to have your other book on Faith.”  Note: Judy’s book Faith, Does It Really Move Mountains? is on the way to her!

Take Time in 2009

You crown the year with Your goodness,
And Your paths drip with abundance.
Psalm 65:11

IF we will stay on the paths of the Lord, abundance will come. Abundance is not just money, but health, hope, encouragement, prosperity, etc. The path of the Lord is righteousness, right thinking, acting, talking, and walking! We hear a lot of talk about a stimulus package, but the only package that will work is Jesus and His ways. His stimulus package will activate us toward praying, reading His word, and giving!

The only stimulus package that will work for us and the United States is turning back to the things of God! He wants us to have His goodness and for every step we take to drip with abundance, but that is up to us. Our path will be God or the world, faith or doubt, believing His word or disbelieving it. The choice is ours!
