Dear Friends,
Greetings and peace in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I pray that God’s peace that passes understanding rules and reigns in your life today. And remember, Spring is just around the corner and with it comes new life and hope for better days!
It has been a wild and wonderful three months since our last letter. Vic worked for Jubilee Christian Center in San Jose making beautiful cabinets, among other things. Besides sharing with and encouraging a small Hispanic church in the area, I had the privilege of teaching a class on FAITH at Jubilee’s Bible College. By the time you read this letter, we will be on the road once again, Lord willing, ministering in the highways and byways.
Last newsletter I promised an update on our outreach in South San Jose. It was truly a team effort. The People’s Cathedral, a Spanish-speaking congregation, hosted the outreach which lasted several days. The Good News storehouse supplied 73 thirty-gallon bags of wonderful clothing plus socks and shoes.
While mothers found clothes for the family, their children had fun outside hitting a piñata filled with candy. The church youth performed an excellent drama during the outreach.
A year ago I’d given these same youth a copy of my book From Rags to Riches and one of the teens shared that she had used my book for her book report and had received an A! Praise God for these teens who are taking a stand for Jesus in their schools and communities.
I was certainly stretched because when preaching in this church (which I did several Sundays), I needed an interpreter, but God moved beyond language barriers and many were saved. In one service, 16 were baptized with the Holy Spirit with the accompanying sign of tongues! It was simply wonderful watching God put His fire on the people, young and old! This little church is such an inspiration to Vic and me.
Several of the church members who were baptized in the Holy Spirit go to the parks each Sunday distributing food and tracks. One morning they led several to the Lord and that very afternoon, the new believers were in my afternoon service and three of them got their prayer language!
It’s truly thrilling to have a part in the Kingdom business. You who pray for Good News and you who give are a vital part. Without you, none of this could happen. It takes all of us working together to get the message of the Gospel to a very needy United States of America! We are praying for each of you!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Loneliness is not the absence of affection. Loneliness is the absence of direction!
Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He WILL direct your paths. - Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

Troops in Iraq Say Thanks!
Scott, a U.S. soldier in Iraq, was home on leave over Christmas and called Judy to thank Good News for the care packages. He said his whole unit was grateful. Scott also said that he and the chaplain pray over the troops every night before they go out on their reconnaissance missions. At least two convoys are sent each night from his unit. How wonderful to be a part of their lives by sending care packages and bringing a smile in their day. Let’s remember to keep Scott and all our troops in our daily prayer!Dad’s Concern for Incarcerated Son Turns into Full-blown Ministry
Danny Husk, a long-time friend of Good News, shows a DVD on anger management that he uses with inmates. "A little over a year ago I was just a father with a son in prison and a burden for prisoners. One time I was invited to speak to the inmates here in our Florida prison, and from then on I was hooked and have not let up! God recently gave me a revelation that my town has a population of 1,300 with 10 major churches. In the prison we have over 1,400 inmates with only 1 chapel and 3 chaplains. What a harvest field!
When inmates graduate from my classes, I like to give them a Free on the Inside NIV Bible. Last December, I had to buy about 60 Bibles and was not sure how, but my wife Gloria said if you need them, get them! I went ahead and ordered them and in the next day’s mail came a check from Good News Ministries for a whole case of Bibles! Judy said that she wanted to sow into our work and that alone was encouragement to me. Please pray for our ministry with the inmates."
