Newsletter - Summer 2011
We hope this newsletter finds you resting in the peace of God. Since we wrote in March, our world has seen increasing upheaval in the form of earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, nuclear leaks, wars and rumors of war. Not only is our world becoming more violent, but so is nature. These are all signs of the times; even so Lord Jesus, come quickly.
Over the past three months, Vic and I have had much one-on-one ministry. In every case, people just needed encouragement and hope.
Hope for Women in Rehab
In our March newsletter, I mentioned briefly that I visited women from a rehabilitation home in Lodi, CA. In May I returned there and was blessed to see the women still very on fire for the Lord. Also in May, I ministered to women in the Sarah rehab home (see picture) in Chico.
It is wonderful to be able to share the Word of the Lord and see lives transformed. My goal is to help the women realize who they are in Christ (II Cor 5:17) and who Christ is in them (Matt 16:13). They have a destiny and a hope in the kingdom of God and the only way to realize it is to renew their minds to the things of God (Rom 12:2). I encourage the women that the Bible gives them the tools they need to live productive lives so they do not need to remain bound by the devil in an addictive lifestyle.
Children Touching Children
In May, I visited a Good News Child Evangelism club that ministers to elementary school children in Corning, CA. I shared with the children about missionary work, and then helped them put together 100 packets of goodies for Yurok Native American children in Klamath, CA. This month I’ll take the packets to the reservation for their after-school program and report on this next time. GNM is blessed to team up with the children in Corning to help the Yurok children.
God is moving with His power and His love through this ministry and we thank you all for your prayers, love, and financial support. We pray for you that God will bring to you an increase in every area of your life.

Pastor Ellis Thanks Good News
One of the special things of this graduation was that we had two special-needs children graduate. One is a big autistic boy and the other is diagnosed with Down Syndrome. We praise God for entrusting us with such precious children and for the patience of our teaching staff! Thank you Good News Ministries for your part in helping to make this possible! —Pastor Ellis

~Word of the Lord~
The enemy is hitting hard everywhere and I speak strength and encouragement over you. Always look up because we know the Lord is returning soon. Whatever you are going through, get in the Bible and search out God’s direction and promises. Take all things to God in prayer, learn to wait on Him, and He will renew your strength.
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come (2 Tim 3:1). Perilous means harsh, savage, difficult, fierce, dangerous, and reducing your strength. It also means irreconcilable. We are living in this now.
In these troubled times stand firm and strong in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our job to call forth the promises of God in our life and stand firm on what we know is truth. Read the word, pray, and believe that God is the rewarder of those who diligently seek Him!
We cannot simply allow the devil to bring fear and confusion. It is our right and duty as a Christian to take authority over the devil's works in the name of Jesus and push back the power of darkness.
If you do not have Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, He is only a confession away. Ask Him in your heart and He will help you survive these troubled times.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses (1 Tim 6:12).
Tribute to Michele Tokiwa
Friend, author, and partner of GNM certainly fought the good fight of faith in her battle with cancer. Michele Tokiwa, now with the Lord, accomplished her goal of seeing her book, Inside Information, through to publication. I recently read her book and highly recommend it. Readers will gain a better understanding of God’s purposes for mankind and what heaven might be like through the eyes of a special angel named Trina.
