20 Years on the Road!
March 2013

Dear Friends,

As Vic and I reflect on our past 20 years of ministry, we remember that it started with graduation from Sierra Pacific Bible College in San Jose, CA, where God spoke to us to reach the people of America with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

While in school we purchased a 1953 Greyhound bus which Vic, a carpenter by trade, finished, converting it into what would become our home for the next 10 years. Our next and current home on wheels was a 1973 bus conversion (top photo).

Only a sure call of God and His grace could keep us on the road without a regular home these 20 years. We are standing in faith for a newer RV for the next years of traveling with the gospel. Please stand with us.

Judy—During these 20 years I went on to earn my Doctorate of Ministry in Theology, wrote and published two books, continue to write monthly columns for secular newspapers, and preach and teach the gospel in out of the way, usually small churches along the way. One of my greatest joys is to see the joy of the Lord restored to tired pastors and congregations.

Vic—Besides keeping the bus in running order and being the sole driver those 240,000 miles, Vic started a fishing ministry called Fire on the Water. Young and old alike join Vic on his boat where he teaches them how to fish and more importantly, about God’s ways.

You—Rejoice with us because through your partner- ship these 20 years, hundreds of people have come to salvation in Jesus, been baptized in the Holy Spirit, healed emotionally and physically, delivered from bondage, and found hope to go on.

Really, there is no way we can put into this little newsletter the magnitude of what God has done through GNM these 20 years. The many individuals we’ve ministered to along the way, the youth, the homeless, the unwed mothers trying to get back on track, the senior citizens, the family, the friends. We are humbled when we think of all God has done. At the same time, Vic and I look forward to what the Lord has in store for the ministry, should He tarry.

May the Lord touch you with His blessings in all areas of your life in 2013!

Vic and Judy Baus

20-Year Highlights (just a few!)

20yr-2.pngThe Good News Storehouse was started on Judy’s mother’s ranch in northern California which is the home base of Good News Ministries. (Judy’s mom is pictured with Vic). People donate professional looking clothing as well as homemade knits to keep homeless and others warm in winter. Through the years we have helped others start their own storehouses.

Leaving U.S. Soil. God led Vic and Judy over the border into Canada three times where they taught and preached the gospel. Judy also accepted an invitation to teach—once in Russia and three times in the Philippines. Good News still helps Happyland’s preschool feeding program outside Manila.

troops-winter12.pngPray for our troops, for their safety and for them to sense God’s presence as they are separated from family this Christmas. Good News sends care packages to one of our soldiers serving in Afghanistan. Pray for our country too!

Judy’s Books to Soldiers and Inmates
Judy’s books, “From Rags to Riches” and “Faith, Does It Really Move Mountains” have
been sent to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, along with care packages, backed with lots of prayer. About 1000 books have also been distrib- uted to the libraries of almost 100 prison facilities.

HOW TO REACH YOUR GOALS

The KEY to accomplishing any goal is first knowing it is the will of the Lord! 20 years ago, Vic and I followed these steps. You can too!

  • Decide-We made a decision to step out on this journey because we knew it was the will of the Lord.
  • Determine-We were determined to go forward with our decision at all costs.
  • Discipline-We disciplined ourselves to stay focused on completing our journey.
  • Diligence-We had to be diligent day after day to see our goals accomplished.

It’s so easy to give up when the going gets tough, but there’s no satisfaction in that, and no glory to the Lord.
