Unmovable!

I write the articles for this column a month before they come out in the paper so as I write this one, the election for the President of the United States is still undecided. I do hope all of you reading this voted! Voting is a wonderful privilege we have here in this country. No matter who wins the election, the actions of the follower of Christ is the same: Pray for those in leadership, whether we agree with them or not!

When we become a follower of Jesus Christ, we change kingdoms and now we are in the kingdom of God. Jesus says in John 15:19, If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. We live in this world, but we are not of this world. We are to live according to the standards of the Bible, no matter who our leaders are. We have a purpose while here on this earth and that is to represent Jesus Christ and bring people to Him. We cannot do that if we are caught up in all the stuff going on around us. We should always vote the Bible, not personality, and then just let it go and pray for those who are elected.

Our Lord is with us through it all and wants us to live in this world His way and not compromising His way. I am accountable for that before Him. I am not accountable for how others live!

2 Corinthians 1:12   For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God….

Remember heaven is our home if we call ourselves a Christian; we are just passing through here. Stay steadfast with the truth found only in the manual for our success (the Bible).

Hebrews 2:1-4  Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.  For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

Does it matter which Bible version is used? The New International Version is easier to read than the King James Version, but the Amplified Bible gives better descriptions. Thank you!

Dear Judy, I want to first say, Judy, I love the Lord! But I’m having trouble keeping out thoughts of despair as I watch the news every day. The shooting of innocent people coming out of nowhere. How to cope?

This is the first month in a New Year and I am sure we all made some declaration for this New Year which wholes new beginnings if we will allow them to be. Instead of giving up I always add something to my walk with the Lord and when I do that it seems to take care of what I should give up or change.
