Come out from among them!

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.

1 John 4:4 reminds us, You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. The Holy Spirit is talking to us, not the unbeliever! We trust and believe as children, and a child trusts his/her parent, even when that parent is not good. But our Heavenly Father is trustworthy and good. The Holy Spirit in us has already provided for our victory. Our part is to enforce the victory by declaring what Jesus has already declared on our behalf on the Cross!

2 Timothy 3:1-5: But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

These verses describe what has infiltrated our world, and, sad to say, even some churches!

To Know this means “to understand what is being said to us.”

Perilous means harsh, savage, difficult, dangerous, painful, fierce, grievous, hard to deal with. The word describes a society barren of virtue and abounding with vices! This sounds like our world, the USA, and our communities! As we read these verses carefully, we must realize the importance of standing firm against these things coming into our lives.

Denying its power. Power in the Greek is Dynamis. It’s where we get the word dynamite. It means miraculous ability! The Apostle Paul strongly tells us to turn away from the people these verses describe. Why? Because we will become like those we hang with!

Paul goes on to say in Verse 7 of the same chapter that they are always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. In other words, sitting in church all the time or going from church to church but never understanding truth!

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Wilderness landscape

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

To live the Christian life VICTORIOUSLY as God intends, we need to avail ourselves of the resources He provides, and one of those resources is HIS ARMOR! What does it really mean when we hear that we are to “put on the armor of God” every morning? It’s very important that we understand what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do concerning this VERY important subject!
