Stay Watchful

STAY WATCHFUL!

I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

It is up to you and me as believers to be aware of the signs of the times! Scripture says, For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. (Romans 8:22) We are living in the last of the last days. Jesus made that clear to His disciples when He walked with them on this earth. Matthew records what Jesus said in Matthew 24:3-8:

Now as He (Jesus) sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them: Take heed that no one deceives you. [Deceives means to roam, go away from, seduce, or be tricked! Jesus warns us today the same as He did then, be watchful and alert.]

For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. [Sorrows means pain like in childbirth.]

We can see all the above hitting not only the USA but all over the world. It’s time to stand boldly and steadfastly as children of God. If we are not sure we are going to heaven, or if we should die right now which we could, we had better get on our knees and ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins and come into our life as Savior and Lord.

Deception is everywhere! Make sure the church we attend is preaching the whole uncompromising Word of God with signs and wonders following! And we must be careful who we listen to or allow to speak into our lives. We are living in times where we can have no compromise or dullness. This world has no hope without Jesus. If we call ourselves followers of Jesus, then we are to follow from His perspective and not the perspective of the world or our own.

We live in very dark but exciting times right now! Exciting because light dispels darkness and the light of Jesus Christ shining through us is brighter than any darkness. Let us check our hearts and know we are clean and clear of any unforgiveness, arrogance, pride, doubt, or disbelief. Only faith in Jesus Christ and His finished work will bring hope and victory.  But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Mathew 24:13

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Wilderness landscape

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.

To live the Christian life VICTORIOUSLY as God intends, we need to avail ourselves of the resources He provides, and one of those resources is HIS ARMOR! What does it really mean when we hear that we are to “put on the armor of God” every morning? It’s very important that we understand what the Holy Spirit is telling us to do concerning this VERY important subject!
