High in Faith

Dear Judy,

I am a Christian and I see so much fear around me. I even see it in the church I attend. I want to keep my faith high so how do I handle this?

Dear High in Faith,

I have said for years that I do not base my faith on someone else’s experience! Not even my own. We can only base our faith and keep our faith level high by trusting the Word of God and that alone. The Bible is our manual for success on this life journey. Nothing else will work.

God did not create humans to be robots; He gave us a free will. Every person has choices to make. Each moment we must decide what and who we will follow. If we do not choose to follow Jesus, then we choose to be defeated! It’s our choice.

Each person’s choice starts with one of the greatest Scriptures for all humanity: For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 This is probably the most known verse in the Bible — and the most ignored. Great depth in it. Our salvation starts and continues with the truth of this verse.

Fear and faith do not mix; we are in one or the other. Dear Reader, you will handle those in fear around you by keeping your focus on trusting and believing in Jesus Christ, just as you did when you got saved. The Lord has a lot for you to do. Keep your faith level high, and you’ll accomplish that by looking up, not around!

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.
