I call the Bible our manual for success! It is the truth that shows us the what, when, and how we so greatly need! What to do, when to do it, and how to do it. It is the only truth we can stake our life on! No other truth holds the promises of Jesus Christ, and which also causes us to be aware and submitted to correction.
If we are followers of Jesus, we have the person of the Holy Spirit to give us understanding and reveal with clarity what it is saying! So, with that said, I want us to give some thought to, and allow the Holy Spirit to speak to us, about the following Scripture:
Psalm 33:12 "Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance."
At one time this was a nation whose God is the Lord and His people had His inheritance. Inscribed on our money is IN GOD WE TRUST. Sadly, many of our country’s leaders have moved away from those words! At one time children were taught that God is the Lord, and in schools, the Bible was taught and prayer went forth!
I love the word blessed which means the state of "prosperity" or "happiness" that comes when a superior bestows his favor (blessing). The one bestowing favor is God Himself. This nation has chosen NOT to have God as Lord, but even amid atheism or agnosticism, His inheritance comes to His children.
Our nation just celebrated our very important holiday, Independence Day. Thank God for those who sacrificed so much for the freedom of this country. But no matter what the situation, believers need to remember we have freedom, and that freedom comes from God because wherever the Spirit is, there is freedom.
2 Corinthians 3:17
"Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty."
And John 8:36 "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." In the midst of a nation primarily turning its back on our Lord, Christians need to remember that we are in the world but not of the world; we are in the Kingdom of God where He is King.
Let’s pray for this nation to come back to the things of God so all can see that God is blessing it and the people in it. If we call ourselves a Christian, that means Christ-like! Let’s allow God to use us to make a difference, and to do that, we must love as Jesus loved. Only He can give us this kind of love. He went to the cross for ALL and rose again for ALL! Let us purpose in our hearts to do all the Holy Spirit shows us to do and how we can make a difference right where we are. God bless you, and may God bless America!
