Confused and Shocked

Dear Judy,
I am very confused and I hope you can give me some insight into the craziness going on with my fellow Christians about that virus. I see fear and this really bothers me. Why are people so afraid? The world I can understand but followers of Christ? If Jesus really is who He says He, is why the fear?

Dear Confused,

I too am shocked at the reaction of many of my fellow brothers and sisters. I too would have never believed what I am seeing and hearing. Church doors closing? That is a wow to me also. But you and I are only accountable before God for how we act or react to this virus situation (or any situation).

Yes, Jesus is who He says He is and He is our healer and redeemer! He is our strength and refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah

The word Selah means to pause and think about it! If we believe the Scriptures and since the word of the Lord is true, then pause and think about what it says. NO FEAR! No matter what happens around us, our Lord has us covered.
We cannot be in fear and faith at the same time! I always tell people to keep their faith high because when a crisis comes, where your faith level is will be where you are. Little faith, no faith, big faith – it’s our choice, but when the crisis hits, it is very hard to climb up in our faith.

I do believe this is what we have and are seeing going on around us. We cannot live by sight but by faith. Habakkuk 2:4 Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith. If we live by or make our decision by what we see going on in the world, fear will overtake us but if we live our life and make all decisions standing in the faith of what Jesus did for us on the cross, by the power in His blood, His resurrection, and His ascension, then peace will come beyond understanding! Then joy will return!

I am one who does not believe the same anointing can come from a cell phone, computer, or TV! The body of Christ is designed to fellowship, worship, and learn together. We are designed to lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Jesus has given us the authority to bind and loose. I say to you and all readers that the times we are living in are called the last of the last days. We must watch and be ready for the return of the Lord. Every believer is in a different place with their faith so let’s just make sure ours is strong and unchanging!

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

February 2025 Dear Judy, I hear the word “saved” a lot. Can you explain what “saved” is? And how do you get it? --Anonymous

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.
