Dear Confused,
I too am shocked at the reaction of many of my fellow brothers and sisters. I too would have never believed what I am seeing and hearing. Church doors closing? That is a wow to me also. But you and I are only accountable before God for how we act or react to this virus situation (or any situation).
Yes, Jesus is who He says He is and He is our healer and redeemer! He is our strength and refuge in times of trouble. Psalm 46:1-3 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah
The word Selah means to pause and think about it! If we believe the Scriptures and since the word of the Lord is true, then pause and think about what it says. NO FEAR! No matter what happens around us, our Lord has us covered.
We cannot be in fear and faith at the same time! I always tell people to keep their faith high because when a crisis comes, where your faith level is will be where you are. Little faith, no faith, big faith – it’s our choice, but when the crisis hits, it is very hard to climb up in our faith.
I do believe this is what we have and are seeing going on around us. We cannot live by sight but by faith. Habakkuk 2:4 Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.
If we live by or make our decision by what we see going on in the world, fear will overtake us but if we live our life and make all decisions standing in the faith of what Jesus did for us on the cross, by the power in His blood, His resurrection, and His ascension, then peace will come beyond understanding! Then joy will return!
I am one who does not believe the same anointing can come from a cell phone, computer, or TV! The body of Christ is designed to fellowship, worship, and learn together. We are designed to lay hands on the sick and they will recover. Jesus has given us the authority to bind and loose. I say to you and all readers that the times we are living in are called the last of the last days. We must watch and be ready for the return of the Lord. Every believer is in a different place with their faith so let’s just make sure ours is strong and unchanging!
Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
