Is this Just the Beginning of Sorrows?

What a mess we see in the world and our nation. We have been and are watching things crumbling all around us. I sure would not like to be in this mess without Jesus Christ as my personal Savior and Lord.

To the believer we are watching prophecy unfold, and to the unbeliever, I would say you better take another look at the Bible because it is true! These times are dangerous but most exciting for the child of God.

Matthew 24:3-7
Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.

Here we are right in the middle of all this…The word pestilence means plague and diseases! God has not brought this on our world, but God knew it was coming! The devil is sure doing a great job with his purposes, but our Lord will turn it to good for His children.

Matthew 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Sorrows in this verse means travail or pain like giving birth. It is like having a child which is messy, painful, and many times travailing, but in the end with the last push baby is born.

Matthew 24:13-14
But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Key words in this passage are ENDURES.. This does not mean to just hang on till the end but to stand against the conflict and to PROCLAIM OR PREACH the gospel of Jesus Christ until the end of it all. We win if we do not quit or get in fear. Truly we have seen so much fear coming from people who calls themselves believers. It is very unbecoming. We win because Jesus already said from His cross IT IS FINISHED. We are to stand now taking authority over the plans and purposes of the devil and to stand from the point of victory. We win! Read the back of the book (the Bible)!

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.
