We have choices!

I see so many people who have trouble with happiness. No one is in charge of your happiness but you. Happiness is being content, cheerful, or merry and this does not depend on circumstances or people. It’s a choice! When we have Jesus Christ in our life, we can be happy no matter what is going on around us. Here are some promises from God to stand on!

A merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken. (Proverbs 15:13)

All the days of the afflicted are evil, but he who is of a merry heart has a continual feast. (Proverbs 15:15)

A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones. (Proverbs 17:22)

So many times we allow depression to enter our life; then we go to a doctor and he/she gives us a prescription! I am not against doctors and medicine but every medicine has warnings. Read the label. And most of the time the warning is worse than the actual thing wrong with us. The best prescription we can ever have is from Dr. Jesus and His words of wisdom and power. It is a decision on our part to stay happy and have a merry heart.

We Christians have no reason to fear or be depressed! We cannot be in fear and faith at the same time and we cannot be depressed and happy at the same time. It is our choice which of these we allow in our life.  What I choose today will affect my tomorrow!

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.
