Who is Your Master? Faith or Fear

This is a subtitle for your new post

I know I talk about “Faith or Fear” a lot but in the times we are living in, we MUST know that a Christian cannot be in both at the same time! We are in one or the other, Faith or Fear! Notice, I put faith before fear. Why? Because faith will drive out fear in all circumstances in our life if we allow it to. I have to say, at times I am ashamed of people who call themselves Christians and yet act the same as this unbelieving, frightened world.

We Christians have the only hope in the world, and if we show fear in these perilous times, why would anyone want the Jesus we are proclaiming! Fear comes from the devil and Faith comes from our Lord.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)  This scripture shows us clearly that fear is a spirit, and not of God, so where is it from? The devil! Our Lord gives us power, love, and a sound mind! We choose faith or fear!

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself (Jesus) likewise shared in the same, that through death (the cross) He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil. (Hebrews 2:14-15)  Our Lord on the cross defeated the enemy!

For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:7-8) Let’s quit looking at things through natural eyes, but look through the spiritual eyes of faith! Get in His word and read His promises. The Lord gave us faith when we got born again and now we live by faith in His kingdom. Whether we live or die, we are with Christ. We have to stop being earthbound and get heavenbound! Faith or fear—our choice!

A Christian is called to the purposes of God and that is to bring others to faith in Jesus Christ! Fear will not accomplish the call of God on our life. Only faith in the living God pleases Him.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Choose this day who is your master: the devil or Jesus Christ?—Faith or Fear?

Well, let me start with the most important thing you bring up. I noticed the word I THINK in your question. Just because you go to church does not mean you are a born-again believer.

I know I am supposed to be joyful this time of the year, but I am not! It all seems so plastic and empty to me, even in the church! Feeling Pretty Empty

Have you ever thought about the word “wilderness” and what that means for the Christian and the non-Christian? To be a Christian we must believe—which is to trust and have confidence that Jesus Christ died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose again! Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

STAY WATCHFUL! I am sure we can all agree, 2025 started off with much tragedy and woe! Terrorist attacks killing many, devastating fires in the LA area, a horrible plane and helicopter collision, and another plane crash two days later! Many families in mourning. Truly, the devil is out to steal, kill, and destroy, and sadly, he’s doing a good job at it. But remember, our Lord is far greater than the devil, and He is ultimately in control.

Christianity 101—Life with God after Salvation We are living in very tough times that are only getting harder. As followers of Jesus, we should be strong in the Lord and full of faith, experiencing the God of the impossible. But are we? Jesus said in Matthew 19:26, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” I believe Jesus is looking at us and our fellowships and asking if we truly believe this. Are we living this Scripture out to a watching world?

We are living in some very dark, wild times. Our manual for success (the Bible) tells us to know the seasons in which we live. We must be alert and watchful and know and understand how our success manual tells us to have success.
